Count Down to Chick-fil-A Leadercast

Do you follow the works of @JohnCMaxwell? Are you an avid reader of @ThisIsSethsBlog? Do you love following @SirKenRobinson and the TED Talks? Were you inspired by the story of Erin Gruwell and the Freedom Writers? These are just a few of the leadership speakers I’m looking forward to learning from during the upcoming Chick-fil-A Leadercast on May 6, 2011.

In the fall of 2009, I did a search on John C. Maxwell. I’ve read many of his books. His books are one of many that assist me in cultivating my leadership style. His books, single quotes and videos along with countless others provide me a constant source of material to reflect upon and use in my daily interactions with students, teachers, parents, administrators and community members. This particular search led me to information about the Chick-fil-A Leadercast Conference.

This conference is held live in Atlanta, Georgia each year. Sites around the world can host the conference locally through a satellite or web-based connection making it very affordable for many to be able to glean from the messages shared. After getting a little more information on the idea, I contacted Leadership Siouxland to see if they’d be interested in sponsoring. The organization took the idea and ran with it! The 2010 Chick-fil-A Leadercast was a great success in the Siouxland area. Now the countdown to the 2011 event is underway.

I encourage you to check the Chick-fil-A Leadercast Find a Site to see if this event is being sponsored in your area. You will not be disappointed! Pricing varies between locations, so please contact directly the site nearest you for pricing and other details.

This year’s event focuses on guiding us to be a voice of change! With change, new possibilities are created. This conference is for every leader at every level who aspires to articulate and demonstrate the power of change through positive leadership. The speakers will incorporate the voices influence, hope, service, purpose, and innovation into their messages. You can find a detailed listing of the speakers and the leadership voice they will represent here.

If you are in the Siouxland area, we’d love to have you join us on May 6, 2011. Our online registration can be found on the Leadership Siouxland home page or our direct link at Eventsbot.

This event is affordable! (Our prices: $55.00 per single ticket & $50.00 if you order 5 or more tickets)

This event is accessible! Join us or find a site in your area!

If you are unable to attend or find a site near you – watch for the Twitter Feed! Last year’s hashtag was the second highest hashtag of the day! I was a Twitter neophyte at the time. The event opened my eyes to the power of Twitter as a professional learning tool as I described in an earlier post The Twitter Buffet.

A special thanks to all of our sponsors: Chick-fil-A (Southern Hills Mall in Sioux City); Northwest AEA; Tyson Foods, Inc. (Sioux City location); Starbucks (Lakeport Commons Sioux City location); FEH Associates, Inc.(Sioux City location); Action Moving, Inc. (Sioux City location); Jolly Time Pop Corn; and Hippie Boy Design.

As an aside, I still don’t know what Chick-Fil-A is. I need to look it up. It must be the Canadian in me!:)

Sorry, Aviva. Chick-fil-A happens to be a fast food restaurant in the states. They are the major sponsor of this event.

Leadercast has sites outside the US. Check to see if anything is in your area. It is an amazing event! Proud to be able to help bring it to our area for the second year in a row.

I enjoyed reading about the event in your blog post, Kathy. After reading it, I really want to go. The lineup looks great. I’d especially love to hear Seth Godin and Sir Ken Robinson. Thanks for setting it up.

I hope you can attend sometime. Last year’s Leadercast was amazing. This year’s lineup is just as impressive. If you can’t attend, be sure to follow the Twitter feed. It was the second most popular hashtag of the day last year!
