August 1, 2014 has arrived – the launch of KathyPerret.org! I welcome you and look forward to learning and growing with you!
This may be a new website, but it is a continuation of my first blog. If you take a look around you will notice blog posts dating back to August 9, 2010. I have moved all my past posts from Learning is Growing over to this site for safe keeping. They serve as a reminder of how far I’ve come as a writer.
A Word of Thanks
Moving to my own domain name and building my website has been yet another learning experience. It could not have been accomplished without the help of some good friends. I especially want to thank Jeff Bradbury of TeacherCast, Justin Baeder of The Principal Center, and Sue Waters of Edublogs. Their support and advice have been critical in the launch of KathyPerret.org.
My life as a writer has had its twists and turns. Several people have been instrumental in guiding me from a very reluctant writer to a confident. Just when I start listing these individuals, I fear I will leave someone out. My mentor and friend, Linda Weir, has been at my side from the very start. She reminds me often how far I’ve come as a writer. Fran McVeigh, Jessica Johnson, and Shira Leibowitz also come to mind as always being there in my writing journey. You can follow these awesome writers at:
- Resource – Full by Fran McVeigh
- PrincipalJ by Jessica Johnson
- Sharing our Blessings by Shira Leibowitz.
What’s New
Now that most of my website is complete, I plan to get back to regular writing. I will continue to reflect on my journey as an educator and share tips and ideas along the way. I feel most complete as an educator when I am take a reflective stance on my thoughts and experiences. Please let me know if there are specific topics of interest.
This new website is also the LAUNCH of a new business venture as an independent educational consultant with the specialty areas of instructional coaching, literacy and technology integration. Like any new adventure, this will be a work in progress. I would love the opportunity to help you with your professional learning needs at the school or individual level. I believe that this support should be ongoing. Virtual communication tools make this easier and more cost effective. I would love to hear about your needs and how I could help enhance your educational experiences. Contact me and let’s start customizing a plan to LEARN and GROW together!
